Imprint Sizing

Every once in a while, we come across a scenario when we have to advise our clients on changing their desired imprint size due to garments that are included in their orders. For example, a client might have garment sizes ranging from Youth Small to Adult 3X. The client wants a 12.5” W imprint on the front chest. One problem — that print is not going to fit on a Youth Small. So, we either need to reduce the dimensions of the print or remove items from the order that the print will not fit.

Now, we know what you are thinking. Why don’t you just make a smaller print on the smaller garments? That is definitely doable. But, it requires a completely new setup; we literally have to start a completely new job. Therefore, we must price it as a completely different job and your volume discount goes out the window. This is why 99.9% of our projects have the same print size. Yes, like once every 3 years we get a random project that is willing to pay for the different print sizes. We will do almost anything you want to pay for, but it is not worth it in our opinion.

Below is our general rule of thumb for max imprint size on different garments. We use “general” loosely because different brands and styles have different cuts/dimensions.
