Soiree Dinner at Parkway
If you have not heard of Amber Ox’s Soiree Society Dinners, you might be missing out. These bi-monthly “underground” dinner experiences are one of the coolest things happening in our area. Members are notified about the dates of the dinner and the cost of the tickets. BUT, they have no idea where the dinner is taking place or the theme of the evening until 72 hours beforehand. To us, that is what makes this experience incredibly special. How awesome is it that you can trust Amber Ox to do things so perfectly that you purchase a ticket without knowing anything other than the date and time? Freaking sick.
Parkway hosted the Soiree Society Dinner on Saturday, June 25th. It was an amazing event with a modern, Coachella-like theme and 80ish guests. The progressive dinner started with a reception in our front parking lot, where Amber Ox’s parent company’s food truck, Against the Grain, parked and served the first 2 courses. The Servers butlered the first cocktail out to guests.
After the 30-minute reception, the guests flowed into the shop. Food and drinks were all over the place. In the retail area, there were 3 different styles of biscuits. Our kitchen area was used to offer another 4 cocktails (yes, four!) to guests, as well as Precarious beer and local wines. The conference table was used to house a huge, communal veggie board. Inside our production area, the Amber Ox crew made dips that looked like the ink we use to print shirts. People picked up a “canvas” that had a crostini on it and could use the 5 different “inks” to create their own plate.
Then comes the Little Havana setup in our alley. There was a roasted pig that was used for arepas, street corn, and all of the culinary ‘fixings’ to make the most beautiful plates. The tables and hanging string lights paired with thumping music to create the coolest vibe.
The finale of the evening was in the lot behind our building. A DJ was set up in the back parking lot. Dessert and the 6th cocktail was served in Chromatic, the car wrapping and tint business behind Parkway. More drinks, music, and dancing. It was a great way to end the evening. Everyone took a commemorative t-shirt that we printed for the event as they headed their separate ways home or to the next adventure of the night. It was truly an amazing event, and we can’t wait to help bring more experiences like this to our city.
